As an analyst in the microbiology laboratory, you are responsible for determining the microbiological properties of raw materials, semi-finished and finished products. This is used to check compliance with internal requirements and external legal guidelines on quality, safety and hygiene. All this to enable safe release of finished products, semi-finished products and raw materials. You work within a competent, well-coordinated team and contribute to a good atmosphere and high quality.
What will you do as Microbiological Analyst?
Analyses
- Perform analyses according to regulations and planning for the purpose of having reliable results available in a timely manner.
- Calculate, check and report analysis results, ensuring recording of required data according to proper documentation rules.
- Escalate immediately in case of discrepancies and non-conformities found and provide corresponding reports to record data.
Laboratory Management
- Ensure proper operation of equipment and timely maintenance according to work instructions and SOP and thus help prevent downtime.
- Contribute to inventory management by using KanBan so that timely orders are placed and there is always sufficient stock.
- Ensure a tidy and clean work environment by working according to 5S and cleaning according to the SIS list.
Safety and Quality.
- Work in accordance with guidelines and regulations such as SOPs and work instructions from the document management system, monthly Behavioral Safety Observation (BSO) and general GLP/GMP requirements. In doing so, ensure safety, quality and welfare in the department and within the organization.\
- Adhere to safety regulations and safety certifications regarding handling and working with chemicals, including also as established in the Environmentally Hazardous Substances Act. Keep in mind the various personal protective equipment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Have a situation ready for audits or visits from management team members at any time.
- Participate in safety rounds and in consultation in inspection rounds or internal audits to contribute to organization-wide high quality.
